BAGASSE AND CPLA, 100% RECYCLABLE PLANT-BASED MATERIAL Bernadotte & Kylberg designed a collection of single-use products for the Swedish tabletop concept and creative packaging company Duni in 2017. Bernadotte & Kylberg found inspiration in the Victoria Amazonia water lily and translated its spirit and form into a family of timeless and playful designs. Crafted with mindful materials, they created an environmentally conscious collection in a celebration of food, form, and function. Extremely versatile and pleasing to the eye, Amazonica pieces inspire the user to try out new ways of presenting food. The dishes are made from bagasse, a sugar-production by-product that composts within weeks, and the forks, knives, and spoons are made from CPLA, a heat-resistant, plant-based biopolymer that can go through the dishwasher up to 10 times before it has to be thrown away and that degrades completely in the ground in 12 months.
